Obituary for Mr. James PAPPAS

Mr. James Theemo Pappas, age 72 years, of Thunder Bay passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2003 at Toronto General Hospital.
James was born, raised and educated in Port Arthur. He was affiliated in his younger years with the Greek Orthodox Youth of America and served as President. James was a partner of Thunder Bay Travel for many years. After the sale of this business he moved to York Harbour, Maine and Boston and operated a bed and breakfast, the Canterberry Inn for 13 years. Upon his retirement in 1997 he returned to Thunder Bay, summering here and wintering in Florida. James enjoyed cooking, gardening and dealing with people. He will be sadly missed , and is survived by his sister Margo Lindgren and her husband Bertil, niece April Lindgren of Toronto, nephew Derrick Lindgren and his wife Lisa of Kenora, grandnieces: Kerstin, Erika and Keira of Kenora. Several cousins also survive.

He was predeceased by his parents George and Christina Pappas, brother Gus (Stathi) Pappas.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2003 leaving the EVEREST FUNERAL CHAPEL at 10:30 A.M. to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church for Divine Liturgy at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Makarios Giannopoulos officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday evening from 6:30 until 8:00 P.M. with Prayers being offered at 7:00 P.M. in the EVEREST FUNERAL CHAPEL, 299 Waverley St. at Algoma.
In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
